Bone Marrow/Stem Cell Drive 2003

*Data reflects donors from the KUMC drive only.  National data not available.

The University of Kansas AAMSA won an award for registering the most potential donors in Region 6 (states include CO, IA, KS, NE, MN, MO, IL, ND, SD, WI, WY)

Our 2003 Bone Marrow Registration Drive with the National Marrow Donor Program (NMDP) was a spectacular success!  Collectively, APAMSA groups across the country registered 996 potential donors and collected 90 address updates!

Why should you get involved next year?  If the pictures don't convince you, I invite you to read a short story about the life-saving gift of bone marrow stem cells as told by our guest speakers, Jay and Kristi.

You may also visit the APAMSA bone marrow stem cell webpage.

Bone Marrow/Stem Cell Drive 2003

Day One. Guest Speaker and Drive organizers

AAMSA is here to help and serve the KUMC and surrounding community.

You can sign-up on the spot or just get more information about the process before you make a decision.

We review a potential donor's history.

The first step is easy. A simple kneedle-stick is all it takes.

Minority donors are in great need.

Medical Students are devoted to a lifetime of fighting disease. . . in more ways than one.
