Duties of the Chief Resident

  1. Plan and present cases at the Multi-disciplinary Tumor Conference held in collaboration with Surgical and Medical Oncology.

  2. Prepare the resident’s monthly call schedule by the 25th of each preceding month.

  3. Prepare, with the help of the training program director, the schedule for the resident teaching conferences and the monthly journal clubs.

  4. Coordinate requests by residents for vacation and meeting times.

  5. Be responsible for the compliance of the residents with the call schedule and their performance of all other duties.

  6. Generally monitor any departmental business with regard to the residents and act as a liaison between the residents and the Departmental Education Committee and other KUMC departments.
