Clerkship Description
This clerkship emphasizes performing drug regimen reviews in the long-term setting.  In addition, the student will have the opportunity to become familiar with medication distribution systems, rules and regulations governing long term care facilities, IV therapy, and management of controlled substances in this setting.  The student should expect to devote a sufficient number of hours each day to accomplish the delegated tasks.

Specific Site Requirements/Information
Because a long-term care rotation involves visiting nursing homes, the student should be aware that this rotation will involve traveling to a number of different sites and will require flexible scheduling.  The student must be able to provide their own transportation and be willing to travel up to one hour each way daily.
