Clerkship Description
Sunflower Pharmacy is a closed shop pharmacy which is located in a retirement village.   They provide the following services:

• Unit dose filling
• Cycle filling
• Floor stock medication
• Durable medical equipment (wheelchairs, walkers, bath benches, etc.)
• Pharmacy consulting every month in the health care facility
• IVs
• Tube feedings

Most of the clients reside in the health care or assisted living facility; however, they do service independent living and townhomes if located on their campus.  Patient counseling is very common on OTCs to the walk-in client.

Specific Site Requirements/Information

• Sunflower Pharmacy is open 8:30am to 5:00pm on Monday thru Friday.
• Pharmacist is on call 24 hours per day.
• Snack bar is located in the facility, along with a bank.
• Dress is business casual.
• Students will give a short (30") "Med Facts" presentation to the independent living residents.
• Students have the opportunity to shadow any health professional (i.e., Administrator, Director of Nursing, Physical Therapist, etc.)

Directions to Site
Sunflower Pharmacy is located inside of the Brandon Woods Retirement Facility at 15th and Inverness Drive.  Parking is available in either the lot on 15th Street or on Inverness.  Please do NOT park in the covered stalls.
